Hi, I’m Michelle, (she / her).
It’s not all about me, but this bit is…
I’m based in North Essex, but originally hail from the Midlands and am proud to have retained some of the mother tongue (Brummie).
As well as being a multi award-winning celebrant I am also a celebrant trainer and mentor and I love sharing a good old love story with anyone who will listen.
My road to celebrancy began in 2011 when my husband who was a wedding photographer wanted me to go and work with him as his 2nd shooter. But I really knew my limits, and I know my talents lie in writing so I became a wedding celebrant.
‘Funky’ was born as a result, and when I fully embraced my fun loving, quirky, different, geeky and nerdy side I realised there are people just like me out there who want to express their inner nerd safely with like-minded people.

I am owned (because, let’s face we all know our pets own us) by 3 gorgeous ‘wigglebutt’ dogs.
I love Marvel, fantasy and sci fi films.
I LOVE my Lego building.
I’m obsessed with Lucy & Yak dungarees!
I love my witchy romcom audiobooks and losing myself in alternative worlds
I adore gin and have quite a collection!
My favourite food is chicken and mushroom balti with naan (always better from the famous Birmingham Balti belt) And for dessert, a well made classic Victoria sponge with a cup of Yorkshire Tea.
I create interactive, geeky, themed, fun quirky, memorable and distinctive ceremonies for likeminded people.

I do not use AI when writing your ceremony, all of my scripts are built from scratch, and it all revolves around you… your story… your passions and your quirks. Telling your story is MY passion and it will be an epic retelling of love in all of its multifaceted and multicoloured glory.
