Your 12 days of Christmas- sustainable wedding inspiration starts here.
On the First Day of Christmas ~ A Partridge in a Pear Tree
Indoor: Use potted pear trees as sustainable, living décor. Add a special planting ritual as you plant a symbolic tree together, representing your growing love. Plant it in the ground in the spring and enjoy the fruits it will ultimately bear.
Outdoor: Exchange vows beneath a pear tree decked with natural ornaments and fairy lights. Keep guests warm with blankets and hot drinks.

On the Second Day of Christmas ~ Two Turtle Doves
Indoor: Include dove motifs on plantable invitations made from seed paper. We can include a unity ceremony, such as blending coloured sands, to symbolise your bond. (I don’t partake in Dove releases, as they do not fit well with my sustainability ethics)
Outdoor: For an outdoor option, add a dove-themed handfasting ritual. Offer guests clear umbrellas or set up a heated tent to keep everyone comfortable.

On the Fifth Day of Christmas ~ Five Gold Rings
Indoor: Bring gold accents indoors with vintage candlesticks and ethical gold jewellery. I’ll narrate the significance of your wedding bands, weaving their ethical journey into your story.

A marquee can provide warmth and shelter while maintaining the festive ambiance.

Top Tip: Let’s source some solar-powered lanterns to minimise environmental impact and talk about your theme and songs!
On The Eleventh Day of Christmas ~ Eleven Pipers Piping
Indoor: Bagpipes or acoustic instruments make for a stunning indoor entrance. Your celebrant can work these elements into a personal ceremony that highlights music’s role in your story.

Top Tip: Find a local piper, after all its supposed to be good luck having a piper at your wedding ( especially if you’re Scottish!)
On The Twelfth Day of Christmas~ Twelve Drummers Drumming
